ERNiCrMo‑14 is a premium nickel‑chromium‑molybdenum (Ni‑Cr‑Mo) alloy filler metal standardized under AWS A5.14 (also designated as UNS N06686, similar to Alloy 686 or L605) and engineered for the most demanding welding environments. Its weld metal typically consists of about 50–60% nickel, 20–22.5% chromium, 12.5–16% molybdenum, and 3–4.5% tungsten, with 2–6% iron and small trace amounts of elements such as cobalt, carbon, copper, manganese, phosphorus, sulfur, silicon, and vanadium.
This alloy is prized for its exceptional corrosion resistance, performing reliably against oxidizing and reducing agents, chlorides, acids, and seawater—making it suitable for aggressive chemical and marine environments.Its high-temperature strength and toughness also make it ideal for use in industries like power generation (e.g., turbine components and heat exchangers), petrochemical processing, marine engineering, and aerospace applications under severe thermal and mechanical stress.
ERNiCrMo‑14 is versatile in welding applications, compatible with TIG (GTAW), MIG (GMAW), and SAW processes. It produces slick, spatter-free welds with a stable arc and smooth deposit, making it suitable for welding super-austenitic and super-duplex stainless steels, nickel alloys, and even for cladding or overlaying carbon steels to enhance corrosion resistance.
Mechanically, it offers tensile strengths around 758 MPa (110,000 psi) and elongation in the 35% range, ensuring a strong yet ductile weld.

CuNi10Fe is an alloy composed primarily of copper (Cu) and nickel (Ni), with around 10% nickel content and a small percentage of iron (Fe). It is commonly referred to as Copper-Nickel 90/10 or CuNi 90/10, meaning it consists of approximately 90% copper and 10% nickel, with iron added (typically around 1-2%) to enhance strength and corrosion resistance. This alloy is widely used in marine environments due to its excellent resistance to seawater corrosion, biofouling, and stress corrosion cracking. CuNi10Fe is used in applications such as shipbuilding, desalination plants, offshore oil and gas platforms, and heat exchangers. Its combination of mechanical strength, ductility, and corrosion resistance makes it suitable for piping systems, condenser tubes, and other components exposed to harsh conditions.
